CHAPTER HISTORY
In January 2004, International Delta Chi headquarters sent representatives to UC Davis to conduct interviews and recruit a founding father class. In April 2004, 18 members were inducted as the founding class. Although the colony struggled to maintain growth for its first few years, it has recently flourished under the guidance of its outstanding alumni board of trustees, which includes members from some of the most prestigious chapters Delta Chi has.
As of Spring 2008, the Davis Colony received approval for their chartering (making them a Chapter rather than a colony) from the international Delta Chi headquarters. The chapter received its charter on October 18, 2008, establishing itself permanently in Davis.
INTERNATIONAL HISTORY

In 1922, the Fraternity officially went "general", thus opening its membership to men in all areas of study. Delta Chi, in 1929, became the first fraternity to officially abolish the hazing practices associated with "hell week".
