Thank you for taking the time to gather information about the organization your son is considering joining. We hope that your visit to our website allows you a glimpse of who we are as a social and service fraternity.
A member's involvement in our chapter can be divided up into three stages: Associate Member, Active Member, and Alumni.
Your son will begin to learn about what it means to be a member of a tightly knit community. During your son's first quarter as a Delta Chi, he will learn about the Delta Chi Fraternity; its history, its traditions, and its ritual. Academics are stressed as the foundation for membership. We believe that first and foremost, we are at UC Davis to be students. Associate Members are also invited and encouraged to participate in the activities of the active chapter: social functions, intramural athletic teams, university interfraternal events, and chapter alumni events.
As an Active Member, the brothers take responsibility for the day to day operations of the fraternity. Every year, leaders are elected from the body to take on roles such as President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant at Arms, and Alumni relations, or to chair committees such as Rush, Social, Scholarship, Philanthropy, etc.
Graduation does not mark the end of a member's involvement in the chapter. Several times a year the alumni chair puts on events to encourage participating by alumni in the colony. We hope that this answers some of the question you might have about what it means to join our organization. Please, if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact any chapter officer found on the Brother Roster page.

"When I first learned Christopher was interested in joining a fraternity I had feelings of trepidation, these feelings were quickly cast aside when I witnessed immense growth in Christopher's leadership abilities along with an altruistic attitude for the community and members of the fraternity. As a Delta Chi member, Christopher enjoyed new friendships with a commonality and feeling of belonging; as serving president, Christopher gained invaluable lessons in business, along with organizational skills, diplomacy, and a vision for Delta Chi that he maintained with patience and tenacity. I am certain Christopher will benefit from his experiences with Delta Chi for the rest of his life."

“Our son has brought a couple of young men from his fraternity home on different occasions, and we have discovered that these would not have been choices we had seen him make in friends in the past. They were not particularly jock types and were of different backgrounds and faiths. This has led him to expand his thinking and acceptance of differences in a very practical way... Belonging to a fraternity has given our son a focus, besides the obvious need to do well in school… For our son, his decision to join a fraternity has been a good one. One which we now respect and wholeheartedly support"

"Our son Daniel is the current president of Davis Delta Chi. Recently, we spent a very pleasant evening with Daniel and three of his Delta Chi brothers. These young men all impressed us with their commitment and sense of responsibility towards each other and towards their fraternity. We are proud of Daniel and what he has accomplished in Delta Chi. And, we know that the relationships and skills he has acquired will benefit him for a lifetime."

“I recently had the opportunity to visit my son and Delta Chi during spring break; the camaraderie I witnessed during my visit was heartwarming. They truly look out for one another and have each other’s best interest at heart. There was a feeling of family; they help each other study, they offer each other rides to and from the store, school, airport and in general around town; they share their food, time and space with those in need. They really bond with each other on road trips, and while working together--like a sports team but they live together. These young men are trained not only from study habits but from the knowledge they have learned from living with each other!”
