SCHOLARSHIP AND ACADEMICS
Delta Chi Fraternity: 2nd Highest Ranked GPA of all fraternity men for Spring Quarter 2009. GPA: 3.008 Average
The Delta Chi Fraternity believes that academics should be one of the university man’s highest priorities. One should never forget that their purpose as a college student is to gain the education that will open doors to the rest of their life. To this end, Davis Delta Chi appoints a scholarship chairman each year to help brothers excel in the classroom.
Currently, Drew Campion holds the position as Scholarship Chairman, hosting study sessions weekly. He delivers grades to the Alumni Board of Trustees for the quarterly Steak and Beans Scholarship dinner, a brotherhood event that rewards those who have succeeded in a quarterly GPA over a 3.0 with a free decadent steak dinner. Further, Drew has developed a comprehensive program to help brothers struggling with schoolwork get back on the right track.
The standards of the Fraternity will not allow a brother to drop below a requisite GPA, failure to achieve this GPA will result in inactive status. The fraternity provides the extra incentives, often necessary in hectic collegiate life, to stay on the right track.
The Delta Chi Fraternity exhibits diverse areas of studies/majors which include, but not limited to:
Chemisty, Cell Biology, Sociology, Political Science, Communications, Community and Regional Development, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Economics, Managerial Economics, Food Science, Exercise Biology, Anthropology, Physics, Biotechnology, Dramatic Arts, Environmental Policy and Planning, Genetics, Film Studies, Asian American Studies, Electrical Engineering, Geology, Biomedical Engineering
The Delta Chi Fraternity is proud to have brothers that succeed to the highest degree. The University of California Davis has congratulated brothers for their academic achievement: Colin March and Kevin Bagley for making the Dean's List; Paul Wang for the highest Greek GPA in the College of Agricultural Science; and Luke Bingham for receiving the University Scholarship for outstanding academic performances. Other acheivements include many GPA as well above 3.0 and achievement of the perfect 4.0 GPA.
